                                                Human Anatomy                         - Marieb, Mallat&Wilhelm 4th ed

 

COURSE DESCRIPTION:   The course will help you understand human anatomy. The structure, location and function will be correlated. Laboratory work will include mammalian dissections and study of bones to understand gross anatomy.

 

COURSE OBJECTIVES:      On Completion of the Course the Students will be able to:

1.  Understand and use common Anatomical terms.

2.  Understand and use roots of zoological words.

3.  Describe the body planes

4.           Identify the structures of the thorax ,shoulder and neck

5.           Dissect the sheep’s heart and identify its structural components and functioning

6.           Identify the structures of the head and neck and the bones of the skull

7.           Identify the bones, nerves and vessels of the upper limb and the forearm muscles

8.           Dissect the cat’s abdomen ,identify the organs and the vessels of the abdomen

9.           Identify the bones of the pelvis and dissect the reproductive organs of the cat

10.   identify and study the bones, muscles and nerves of the lower limb

 

 

COURSE POLICY:   Every student is responsible for reading and assignments. Attendance is mandatory in all lab classes. There will be make ups for missed quizzes. If any student has a disability and needs help, please inform in the first lab class.

 

GRADING CRITERIA: There will be 3 Practical Exams. Each Practical Exam is worth 100 points.  Students have to obtain a passing Grade in the LAB to get a final Passing Grade.
