| Grants and
Donations may be made to our program care of the CCRI Foundation
through the Community College of Rhode Island |
There are currently
two planned fundraising events; each has been organized to raise
money for the Southern Italian Folklore project taking place
this summer. |
| These funds can be
applied to the program in general or to support specific
projects. Through the Folklore Detectives
Project, funders may sponsor a single student's independent
study of the historical significance of one of the folktales
submitted to our team. |
Projects we
are currently seeking funding for: |
Italian Dinner
Banquet at the Madonna della DiFesa Society in Johnston.
There will be dinner, a brief talk on some folktales from the
south of Italy and entertainment. Tickets are $25.00
Date: TBA (early April) |
| Funders will be
recognized in publicized material such as a Funders' Page on the
Website, a note in the acknowledgements, and in some cases an ad
or "formal" thanks in printed material and/or video final
product. . |
Southern Italian
Folklore: We are hoping to fund 5-10 Students to travel to
southern Italy for two weeks. They will be staying in a rural
village near the Ancient Greek city of Paestum in the Province
of Salerno. Their goal is to capture digital images, video, and
audio of interviews, oral histories and significant cultural
material. Their final product will consist of a video
documentary and a printed edition of our outcomes. |
Formal Italian
Dinner at Andino's Restaurant on Historic Federal Hill.
$50.00 tickets include a traditional Italian dinner, a talk on
Italian Immigration to Providence's "Little Italy"
Date: Sunday April 23-
12:00-3:00 |
| Depending on the
project, funders may request a formal talk on the outcomes of
the project. |

federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal
