Learning Outcomes
At the completion of HMNS-2080 - Case Study Development students should
be able to:
- Interpret the unique learning, social, communication and adaptive
behaviors of a specific disability
- Document the ways in which tasks, activities and assignments are
provided for a special needs child
- Maintain ongoing, direct contact with a special needs student in
a variety of roles; (e.g. 1:1 tutor, small group assistant, recreational
companion
- Conduct an interview with a teacher in order to gather descriptive
information regarding program purpose, organization and implementation
of special services
- Derive meaning from classroom practices and methods which are provided
for children with disabilities
- Interpret the performance levels, annual goals and delivery of services
as stated in the Individual Education Plan of the Case Study subject
- Using Database resources, investigate an IDEA eligibility category
which is the primary diagnosis of the Case Study subject
- Review and summarize the NECAP report of the school where the observations
are conducted
- Complete documentation of a Case Study in accordance with MLA format
