Definitional And Reflective Exercise
A. Instructions:
1) Look up the following intellectual tendencies in a
dictionary (all-purpose or philosophy dictionary), 2) write the dictionary
definition (only the first or main definition if there are more than one),
and then 3) formulate a definition, based on the dictionary definition and
personally acquired knowledge, in your own words. Finally, reflecting
on your present or past intellectual attitudes and/or practices, 4) give an
example of how you have either a) performed the intellectual tendency
or b) avoided it.
