Videocassettes of Italian Feature Films

During the academic year selected Italian films are shown in class. Class discussion and follow-up written activities help the student to understand and appreciate the Italian culture and language: the plot, characters, themes, regional differences, and class distinctions. Films are authentic samples of the five Cs of the foreign languages national standards.

Films provide exposure to authentic spoken language, and regional dialects of Italy.

Films are "colorful rainbow" of cultural themes. The context is rich of economic, social, and political  aspects of various regions of Italy. Films also inform the viewer of the historical events that took place at a given time and place.

Films are connected to other interdisciplinary studies: music, visual arts, history, geography, language, theatre, dance, sociology, literature, and etc.

A comparison can be made between selected Italian Films, American films and other foreign languages film, in terms of theme, plot, characters, setting, time, etc.

Films offer an array of popular culture and strongly encourage the four skills for language acquisition: listening, speaking, reading and writing within the contexts of each community.

Dalla seguente lista verranno scelti dei film da guardare in classe o messi a disposizione dello studente nell' AV Center oppure verranno presentati dal Club Italiano.
