OFFICE OF THE ASSOCIATE DEAN OF STUDENT LIFE / DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS March 16, 2006 It is with much disappointment that I must inform you that due to the Congressional decision to eliminate the funding for the National Youth Sports Program, the 2006 NYSP Program will not be conducted this summer at the Community College of Rhode Island. In an attempt to provide you with alternative summer programs, we have compiled the attached listing of programs that may be available in your area. For additional information, please contact your local recreation department, community action agency or boys and girls club. The National Youth Sports Corporation has promised me that they will continue to keep the Community College of Rhode Island Department of Athletics in the loop while they pursue funding for the summer of 2007. I will do my best to keep you informed of any major changes that might occur during the next 12 months. I want to personally thank all of our past participants and their families for helping to make NYSP successful for the past 28 years. If you have any questions you may contact Melissa Carberry at 401-825-1056 or at mcarberry@ccri.edu.
