Meet & Greet Non-Traditional Students

Our approach to meeting this requirement went beyond the minimum requirements outlined in the Passport Program.  The college administration has for the last two semesters set up a “Welcome” table at the main entrance to the college, during the first few weeks of classes.  We thought we could reach more non-traditional students by modeling the administration’s approach.  We therefore set up a table located in the main lobby.

Kristen Smith spearheaded a Meet and Greet on January 17th, 18th and 19th. Kristen handed out granola bars, pamphlets and applications to new students while assisting them with directions and schedules. Jason Poethke, Meredith McCauley, and Frank Sullo all helped Kristen at various points through the days.

While we signed up very few new members we exposed the name Delta Epsilon Chi to new members of campus. This name exposure will benefit our chapter in the future when it comes to recruitment, fundraising and recognition.
