February 14, 2006

We had a superlative turnout for our first fundraising activity. At
the end of the day, after expenses we netted $78.00!!! While this may not seem like a lot of money, considering we sold carnations for a total of 4 hours, that is pretty good.

We do have some carnations left over and will attempt to sell them
tomorrow during our recruitment efforts!!

3 new people joined our ranks today!!! Great Recruitment efforts by everyone!!!

Some important things to consider:

1. Recruitment drive in Commons from 10-2pm on Wednesday 2/15.  Contact Rachel or stop by to help us grow our organization!

2. Deposit for the Dallas Trip - $100.00 by 2/28/06 - Balance (not sure what that will be yet) due on 3/15/06.

3.SkillsUSA Competition - Testing must be completed by Friday 2/17.
Testing can be completed at 2:00 pm on Friday in Room 1130, or contact Bob ( carosi@ccri.edu ) or JoAnn ( jwarren@ccri.edu ) to make alternate arrangements.

4. Competition Camp: Students wishing to compete in a competitive
event (similar to Regionals) at Dallas, can enroll in a 1 credit Independent Study with JoAnn. If you are a full time student, and not taking more than 18 credits, there shouldn't be any charges. However, if you are part-time, you will need to pay for the one credit.
Students can opt out of the credit, but Must participate in Competition
Camp, in order to be prepared for National Competitions. We will plan to meet for approximately 10 hours between now and April 15. We hope to work closely with the Providence Chapter. Here is a link to JoAnn's schedule, see what time works best for you. Anytime, I am not in class works for me... http://faculty.ccri.edu/jwarren/schedule.shtml

5. Community Service - We have several opportunities coming up to meet our Community Service requirements - Mark Your Calendar - Kristen has volunteered to chair the Community Service Committee.
3/1 - Professional Development Day - Knight Campus 8-1pm
