Voices from the House Divided, Part I

In two to three pages, review pages 1-145 of the book, Voices from the House Divided.  Reviews are due by noon, October 28 at jevery1@verizon.net

Voices from the House Divided chronicles the lives of twenty Americans during the Civil War.  In your reviews, you can note the reactions of both northerners and southerners to the outbreak of war, and how those reactions changed as a result of wartime conditions.  You can also comment on how opinions differed based on section, gender, race, status, battle field versus the home front, or on anything that may have struck you.  It may be impossible to write about all the characters and their experiences, but you should be able to discuss how living through the Civil War did impact Americans of varying backgrounds and experiences.
