The WomenTech Project started in 1999 as a 3- year
grant through the
Institute for Women in Trades, Technology and Sciences. CCRI was one
of three colleges across the country that was a part of this project .
The project's objective was to increase and retain women in technology
and science programs where women are under-represented. CCRI has proven
to be the leader by institutionalizing many strategies to help women
increase their knowledge of high technology programs and make
informative decisions regarding their future.
Some of these strategies include: CCRI faculty,
staff and area business representatives participated in gender equity training,
curriculum changes, the development of the Association for Women in
Technology, an annual Women In Technology Expo and a WomenTech web
site. |
