Conclusions
We improved on the Vertical Turbine design by adding magnets, coils and improving the overall structure. These three simple improvements turned a small paper wind turbine into a wind turbine capable of producing nearly nine volts of DC current. Though these additions were helpful in producing higher voltages, we found that the largest variable is the strength and tightness of the coils. Through our testing, we discovered that one small break in a single coil can crush the potential power of a wind turbine. We believe that this study has shown that wind power can be a rather cost efficient way to produce environmentally friendly power.
