Testing the Pico Turbine with the fan

(Pico later broke during drill testing)

The new turbine design before assembly

Visible is the shaft (an arrow)

the main supports, the plastic bottom and the wood base

Up close picture of the three stage converter.

This takes the three AC currents are converts them to DC voltage. On paper this is done by taking the internal resistance and placing it in series with a voltage source. The voltage source is found using ohm's law.

 Problems with the new turbine

Turbine recording very low voltage
due to breaks in the coils
coils were replaced to fix this problem

 Picture of the finished turbine

This turbine uses 16 magnets and 8 coils and produces at maximum of 8.1 DC Volts

 Final day of testing

Ed is measuring the wind speed while Chris takes notes

Turbine Costs

There were no costs, aside from the purchase of the original pico turbine.

All parts came from Ed's house.
