Formatting Headings with Quick Styles

Inserting a Blank Table
(Header Row in a table identifies type of info in each column)
(Header Column in a table is a column on the left that identifies the type of
info in each row)
Insert Tab, Table button
Enter data in a cell then press the Tab Key to move to the next cell
To select a row, move pointer to the left of the row, wait for white arrow
pointing to the right, click left mouse button
To select a column, move pointer to the top of the column, wait for black arrow
pointing down to the column, click left mouse button
To sort info in a table, click somewhere in the table, Click the Table Tools
Layout tab, click Select , Select Table, in the Data Group
click the Sort button
Inserting columns in a table, click anywhere in the cell of a column where you
want to make the insertion, click Select, Select Column, select your insertion
option
Inserting rows in a table, click anywhere in the cell of a row where you want to
make the insertion, click Select, Select Row, select your insertion option
Deleting Rows and columns: Select row (or column), Click delete in the
Rows & Columns group, select option
To change the width of a column: move mouse to border of column to be
resized, click and drag on border
To apply styles to a table: click in table, click Table Tools Design tab,
click More, Styles Gallery opens
To remove formatting from a table, Table Style Options grouping, make your
selection to remove checkmark
Tab Stops
Default Tab Stops every half inch
Top Triangle pointing downward is the first line indent. Drag on it to set
first line of each paragraph tab stop. Bottom triangle pointing upward is
the handing indent. A hanging indent will indent all lines of a paragraph
EXCEPT the first line. Drag on it to set the tab stop on the ruler.
Square at the bottom of the two triangles is the paragraph indent marker.
Drag on it to indent the entire paragraph. (This is like setting a
temporary left margin).

Reference Tab, Footnotes gruoping, Insert Footnote
To Remove a Hyperlink
Right-click the hyperlink and then click Remove Hyperlink
Sections within a document
To divide a document into sections, you insert a section break. A
section is a unit or part of a document that can have its own page orientation,
margins, headers, footers, and vertical alignment. Each section is like a
mini-document. To insert a section break: Page Layout Tab, Page
Setup grouping, click Breaks button
To Create a SmartArt graphic:
Insert Tab, SmartArt, select your option
To Resize a graphic
Click graphic to select it, move mouse to resizing handle and drag
Headers
and Footers
Zoom to view entire page, click in bottom margin to create a footer or top
margin to create a header
To Insert a Cover Page
Ctrl + Home to top of page, Insert tab, Pages grouping, Cover Page button
