Course Overview


Course Description

This course will explore the Parent-Child Relationship as it develops within the family. Special attention will be placed upon the various developmental stages that both children and parents pass through and, in turn, how parents and children influence each otherís development. Selected topics such as ethnic diversity, child-rearing methods, parenting styles, family system theory, parenting in high risk families etc. will be discussed.

Learning Objectives
In addition to weekly class meetings, requirements will include:
Prerequisites
Grade of "C" or better required for Human Services Program students.
