Activity 5-2 Browsing using NetWare Administrator
On the Lab workstation-enter your lastname.students for your username and your password into the Novell Login screen. Click ok for the Guest screen. Click nwAdmin32 icon on the desktop to open Netware Administrator. If you do not see the CCRI Tree, click View on the menu-Go Up a level. Place your cursor on each icon in the Tool Bar on top of the window to display each tool tip. Double click the Corporations container- double click yourlastnamecorp to display the objects in your container- Print Screen. Exit Netware Administrator, but do not log out.
Activity 5-3 Working with ConsoleOne
On the desktop double click the ConsoleOne icon. Double click the Corporation container and double click yourLastname container to display the objects in your container. Print Screen. Double click the SYS object, Home, yourlastname folder to display the directories and files in your personal directory. Print Screen. Log out of the workstation.

Browse for yourlastname directory (SYS-Home-lastname directory) which is your home directory. Give the user you created in Activity 5-13(userLastName) Supervisor rights to your home directory by right click yourlastname directory-Properties-click the Trustees Tab- Add Trustee and browse for userLastName in yourlastnamecorp which is under the Corporations container-. Hi light the userLastName-click ok. Click the Supervisor check box- Print Screen. Close ConsoleOne.
Activity 6-2 Making User Trustee Assignments in Windows
On the Windows desktop- click My Computer icon- click the Folder’s icon on the top to display the folders. Click the SYS volume-Home- to display your last name directory. Right click your last name directory-Properties-NetWare Rights. In the middle pane expand the Students container and select the user student- Add. Give the student all the rights except Supervisor to your directory. Print Screen.

Start ConsoleOne-Using the steps in Activity 6-1 -browse for your last name directory- right click the directory-Trustee tab—hi light the user student you selected in the previous activity and select Effective Rights. Print Screen. Log out.

Right click your last name directory-New object-Directory- name it SUsage-ok. Expand your last name directory to display SUsage-Right click SUsage-Property-Trustees-Effective Rights and browse for the student user you gave rights to in Activity 6-2. In ConsoleOne browse for last name directory-properties-Trustees and hi light userlastname- unselect Supervisor and make sure only Read and File Scan is selected. Print Screen.

On the Lab workstation-login and start ConsoleOne- expand the directory tree to locate yourlastnamecorp. Right click yourlastnamecorp-properties-NDS rights to display the trustees of the yourlastnamecorp OU. Click Add Trustee-browse for and click userlastname –then click OK to open the Rights assigned to selected objects. Click all the rights except Supervisor-Print Screen. Click the All Attributes Rights in the Property section-click all the rights for the attributes except supervisory-Print Screen-OK.
Activity 7-3 Creating a Directory Map Object and Assigning Rights using ConsoleOne
Start ConsoleOne and expand the eDirectory tree. Navigate to yourlastnamecorp –right click New-Object-Directory Map-OK-enter SharedData in the Name text box and browse for the Shared directory in your last name directory in the SYS-Home-click OK-Print Screen(New Directory Map)-click OK. On lab computer log into the server and double click NWAdmn32 icon. Expand the tree to high light yourlastnamecorp-right click your lastnamecorp-click Trustees of this object. High light each trustee and label and record each object right. Log out.

Print Screen about meeting today- login as yourself and change the login script so it will display “Meeting next Monday”- login as your user and Print Screen for Meeting next Monday. Therefore, there are two printouts besides the login script. One displaying "Meeting next Monday" and the other displaying "Meeting Today at 10 in conference room".
