Activity 3-2 Viewing Information on SYS Volume Directories

Click Volumes under Manager Server-Click Sys-scroll to Public and click the Info icon(on the right of Public)-Record and label the owner and trustee information

Repeat step to record and label owner and trustee information for the System and Login directories. Go to next activity

Activity 3-5 Creating a Directory Structure with Remote Manager

Click Volumes under Manager Server-click SYS-click Home

Scroll and click the Home Directory-

Click the Info icon next to your directory (your last name) to display the directory entry information window. Scroll if necessary to display the Create Directory box-enter Apps in the Create Subdirectory New name text box to add the Apps directory-click Create Subdirectory-click the back tab and repeat the steps to create IT, Shared, and Forms directories in your LastName directory- After last sub directory created - Print Screen of your subdirectories. Minimize Remote Manager.

Activity 3-8 Accessing the Netware File System from Windows

In Notepad open a New document –write in it “This is a test to upload a file to my home directory”-Save it as test.txt on your local drive.

Maximize Remote Manager. Under Volumes click Sys-click Home- click your lastName directory-click the Forms Directory-click upload and browse for the test.txt file – upload-Print Screen

Activity 3-9 Deleting and Salvaging File in Remote Manager

Click the Volumes link under Manager Server-click SYS-Click Home-click your last name directory-click Forms-Click the icon next to the test file you created in Activity 3-8-click delete file and yes to confirm.

Click the Info icon next to forms- click “Select for list” next to Salvageable files-Print Screen before you click Salvage for the test.txt (the one with bytes). Close Remote Manager.
