 eDirectory

 Activity 4-1 Creating an eDirectory structure using iManager

Login using iManager- URL- https://216.19.113.55/nps/iManager.html. Username – lastname.students.ccriorg , your password, Tree is ccritree.

You are going to create an Organizational Unit called yourlastnamecorp under the Corporations Organizational Unit.

In iManager- expand the eDirectory Administration link- click create object- scroll for Organizational Unit –OK-name it yourlastnameCorp(for instance if your last name is Smith, it will be named SmithCorp. Click the Object Selector icon next to context to determine where the organizational unit will be placed. In the Object Selector Browse Window click the arrow next to ccrirog to go down one level-click Corporations to display Corporations.ccriorg in the context text box- click ok.

Following the same steps create Engineering, IT, and MFG organizational units, but place these organizational units in yourlastnamecorp. (click the arrow next to Corporations and click yourlastnamecorp to display it into the context box(yourlastnamecorp.Corporations.ccriorg). Continue with next activity.

 Activity 4-3 Creating User Objects using iManager

Click Create User- enter any username, first name, last name.  For Context-click the Object Selector icon and browse for  yourlastnamecorp under the Corporations container(yourlastnamecorp.Corporations.ccriorg). Enter password in the Password and Retype Password text boxes-click to select Set Simple Password-ok-ok.  Click Modify Object and browse for and open your lastname corporation container( under CCRIORG, Corporations, your lastname corporation. Displaying all the objects you just created Print Screen. Close the browser and cancel the Modify Object.  Continue with next activity.

 Activity 4-4 Viewing Partitions and Replicas using iManager

In iManager  expand the Partition and Replica heading -click View Partition Information-browse for the ccritree(you may need to go up a level) – click ccritree-ok-Print Screen. Close iManager.
