  Activity 2-3 Console Commands Using Remote Manager

Start your Web Browser and enter https://216.19.113.55:8009

Internet Explorer 7 or Vista --If you are not connecting to 216.19.113.55

                      Internet Explorer-Tools –Internet Options-Advanced-Scroll and check -Use SSL 2.0

Login with lastname.students.ccriorg as the username and your password

Under the Manager Server link click Console Screen-click System Console. You are at the console screen. Only one user at a time can view the console screen.

Use the CONFIG command and label and record the following information in the document

·        Tree Name      Node address    Bindery Context    

Use the MEMORY command and label and record the Total Server Memory. Use the VOLUME command and label and record the name of each volume. Close the Console Screen.  Go to the next Activity.

Activity 2-5 Monitoring Server Health Using Remote Manager

Label and record the health status of the server- color on top. Click the Health Monitor link under Diagnose Server-click CPU Utilization-Print Screen-close.

 Activity 2-6 Performing Server Management Tasks Using Remote Manager

Click the Volumes link under Manage Server-click Sys-click home, and label and record the name of your home directory in the home directory. Click the View Memory Config link under Manager Server and label and record the available Total System Memory and Available Cache Memory. Go to the next activity.

 Activity 2-7 Viewing the Server Hardware Environment Using Remote Manager

Click the Processors link under Manage Hardware-Print Screen. Go to next activity.

Activity 2-8 Viewing the Server Startup Files Autoexec.ncf using NWCONFIG

Using the steps in Activity 2-3 enter the Console screen. At the console type nwconfig-enter -press down arrow to highlight NCF file option-Enter- Select Edit Autoexec.ncf-enter- Print Screen of autoexec.ncf-hit the Esc key three times to exit the install-hit yes to exit. Close the console screen and exit Remote Manager.
